Our Story
The Story behind Patriot Threads:
Patriot Threads was founded by Brady Fernandes and his father Craig Fernandes – both of whom are entrepreneurs and philanthropists from Knoxville, Tennessee. Brady has a passion for helping others and was inspired to honor veterans who have sacrificed so much when serving our country.
Patriot Threads was launched on Veterans Day, November 11th, 2015 and is currently offering branded merchandise licensed from Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing – a non-profit dedicated to supporting the recovery of disabled veterans. Please contact us at patriotthreadsusa@gmail.com to send us pictures that we can post in our gallery.
Our goal is to provide high quality merchandise at fair prices so that you will be proud to wear our gear. We also welcome you to show your support by posting a selfie in your Patriot Threads shirt and tagging us and Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing on your social media.
Thanks in advance for your support, and God Bless America!
Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. (PHWFF): is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings. Learn more at www.projecthealingwaters.org
PHWFF began in 2005 serving wounded military service members at Walter Reed Army Medical Center returning from combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. Since then, PHWFF has expanded nationwide, establishing over 200 highly successful programs in Department of Defense hospitals, Warrior Transition Units, and Veterans Affairs Medical Centers and clinics.
PHWFF is unique in that our volunteers are teaching classes on an on-going, long term basis. It is much more than a one-time fishing trip. For many participants, particularly disabled veterans, the socialization and camaraderie of the classes are just as important as the fishing outings, and provide them a new activity and community.
